We gratefully acknowledge that we gather on the Lisjan/Ohlone land, and honor their generosity and welcoming spirit. Sadly, their land was taken from them by our federal government and they are now working diligently to buy it back. To learn more about how you can help the Lisjan/Ohlone reclaim the land of their ancestors, visit http://sogoreate-landtrust.com/ or join the Facebook group "West Berkeley Shellmound".

The 2018 ChI Unite-a-thon

As you know, The Chaplaincy Institute is in the midst of a challenging moment. We've made substantial progress in fundraising in the past few months, and we still need your help. This challenge has given room for us to consider new opportunities for what ChI can become. When we succeed, ChI will become a more focused voice for interfaith, able to welcome and train a broader range of students to serve even more diverse communities.

So how do we get there?

The ChI Unite-athon is a special event on June 9th that will celebrate the beautiful diversity of interfaith practice, and raise funds to ensure that we continue to grow and thrive. I invite you to join me and be a part of this historic shared experience... Click here to register.

The Unite-athon is both an individual (where you live) and a live-streamed event hosted in Berkeley, CA, connected with our regional satellites. On June 9th, our ChI community will join with one another via a live event offering to share collective practices together, celebrating our diverse and growing community, and opening up our virtual doors to the world!  Individually, that same day, our ChI Community will meditate, pray, dance, walk in nature, and do dozens of other practices, each of us honoring the sacredness of the earth and all beings in our own ways. As all our wider networks partner in this movement, we can also share what ChI is doing to create a just world that honors the sacred connection of all.

For this to be the powerful event it can be, and needs to be, we need everyone who cares about the future of The Chaplaincy Institute to join! Some folks will be participating for many hours that day, and some will only be able to participate partially -- there is a lot of flexibility to accommodate every schedule.  Our goal is to raise $25,000.

For more information, reach out to The Unite-athon's lead organizer, seminary student, David Greenson at davidgreenson@gmail.com

Unite-A-Thon FAQ

Can you hear it?

All around us are echoes of a sacred invitation.

In the chaos, in the unrest, in the shifting climate, and in our own hearts.

Can we come together with all our human diversity and experience a shared sacred connection? We believe we can! When we remember our connection, to each other and to the planet, we experience healing and transformation. This invitation to connect, to unite, is the reason we gather June 9. We gather with intention...not to become the same, but to remember we are one.

We gather to share our spiritual practices and witness each other. To practice compassion and respect in a way that will unite us, and ripple out to the rest of the world. We gather to unite in our mission: to create a just world that honors the sacred connection of all. If that's your desire, if you hear that call...

Join Us!

Join us Saturday, June 9, at 10am (PDT) in Berkeley, CARSVP HERE - or unite with us through the live stream on our Facebook page - LIVESTREAM - Can't stay the full 2 hours? Check in when you're able between 10am - 12pm PDT!

Unite-A-Thon will be broadcast live from The Chaplaincy Institute in Berkeley, CA. We will unite in celebration of our diversity and to open our hearts fully to a greater awareness of our sacred connection. We're inviting over 2,000 friends to join the CHI Interfaith Community in this event, and invite you to share through your social media channels.

Together as one sacred community, we will unite with the help of modern technology, to set an intention of healing and transforming this world. Bring your friends to pray, meditate, dance, and activate your inner calling to help create a just world that honors the sacred connection of all!

You’ve probably run across read-a-thons and walk-a-thons before, and this is similar, except instead of reading or walking, CHI community members are going to be sharing interfaith spiritual practices on that day. And leading up to June 9, we’re inviting our friends and families to help raise money for CHI's mission, while also raising awareness about the interfaith movement.

You can watch to the live broadcast by going to CHI Facebook Page and add it to your calendar now.
