A just world that honors the sacred connection of All

Is There Anyone To Listen?

Rev. April Bolin’s mission is to forge and uncover sacred connections through her Peace and Wellness Project. April advocates “Compassionate Listening” with emphasis on supporting “children and adults toting around years of emotional baggage from abuse, neglect or trauma.” Her efforts were recently recognized in the March 2018 issue of Presence Magazine. Rev. April was ordained in September 2013 as a graduate of the ChI Interfaith Studies Certificate Program. We join in recognizing April’s good work in the ChI Interfaith Community and beyond!

Celebration & Remembrance

Remembering Rev. Susan Morrison

Our beloved friend and mentor, Susan Morrisson passed away Wednesday night, February 21st, peacefully in her home surrounded by family.

We know how full her life was with your friendship and her circles of care and connection, and we are grateful for all the joy and richness her activities and communities brought to her life and your part in it.

A memorial service will be planned in a few weeks, and more information will be available then. For now, please do not send gifts or flowers at this time. The family respectfully requests no calls, texts, emails or visits at this time. Feel free to mail cards along with recollections to Susan's husband, Dave at 3453 74th Ave SE, Mercer Island, WA 98040 to be shared at the time of her service.

Welcome Hermes Pottash!

Hermes is the newborn son of Deepa & Harry Pottash. Harry is a current Interfaith Studies student discerning ordination with the ChI Interfaith community.

From Harry: "My wife Deepa did, in fact have her water break, and went into full labor suddenly and completely while I was in module. It was pretty much just like the movies with the exciting car ride to the hospital through rush-hour traffic, and the baby seeming like he was going to pop out in the elevator.

Hermes was born a month premature, and reasonably healthy. We did have to spend some pretty stressful time in the NICU, but it turned out to be nothing much. As is typical of premie's he started out a little bit needier than a normal baby, but now that we are into the 6 week mark I can...handle little things like sending an email."

Thank you Harry and Deepa for sharing this beautiful moment with us!

Congratulations Rev. Jenifer Miller

Ordained ChI Alum

Jen recently completed 4 units of CPE in 2017, and is now the Lead Chaplain at George Mark Children's House, in San Leandro, CA!

"George Mark is the first stand alone children’s hospice in the US. Rev. Margaret Northall (ChI Ordained Alum) was instrumental in getting the hospice started, several years ago, before it became what it is today.

I have only been there a couple of weeks, and am excited and encouraged to bring art, ritual, prayer, and song... and alternative healing modalities to patients and staff, and continue to think outside the box to service children and families. I made this out of an old jewelry box, to create a special way to bring communion on the go..."

Thank you Jenifer for sharing your wonderful journey with us!

This past Monday more than 100 of our ChI Interfaith Community gathered in person and virtually to dialogue about our future and vision, and to help clarify what is needed to accomplish our mission.

One message came through loud and clear: You love ChI!

ChI offers something to us as human beings, community members, students, chaplains, and spiritual directors that is found nowhere else. We are an Interfaith Community and Seminary built on that belief.

We are actively raising $150,000 between now and June 30, 2018. We're excited and grateful to report that since Monday our Community responded by giving nearly $30,000 to help us reach that goal and become stable and effective! Thank you for believing. Thank you for giving. We continue to move forward with new revenue, new students, better systems, and new commitments!

We need your continued support, input, ideas, and passion! To partner with us in our mission, please mail a check, give here or email Elly(at)

We know we have a long way to go, and we're excited about the momentum as we live and lead into our vision. We'll have another Town Hall meeting in a few months. For now, we ask that you continue to lead well in your community, to love well, and to continue this sacred connection with us.

Where is ChI?

It's everywhere.... it's you. It's me. We are ChI.
