Presence Under Pressure: Sustaining Your Ministry When Resources Run Low

Sustaining Your Ministry

What happens to spiritual care when resources shrink? Rev. Dr. Andrew Gregg shares findings from his research presented at the Association of Professional Chaplains conference, which examined how a hospital spiritual care department adapted to significant workforce reduction while sustaining meaningful ministry. This session explores how technology, volunteers, and thoughtful workflow redesign can help spiritual care practitioners do more with less — without sacrificing depth or presence. Whether you work in healthcare, community, or congregational settings, you’ll come away with practical insights on resilience, resourcefulness, and sustaining a ministry of presence in complex environments.
