Now Online! Ceremonial & Congregational Ministry
May 14, 2020 - May 15, 2020
Welcome to a 2-day elective class that will invite you to expand your creative soul. One truth is that we live in a world that is multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-generational and longs for meaningful rituals that are inclusive, inspirational and reverently holds the beautiful messiness of life. How do we partner with our understandings of “Spirit” to craft rituals that contain all of “THIS”.
Seminarians called to ceremonial/community ministry in the span of 3 days will learn the elements of liturgical ministry – how to design, write and officiate dynamic/meaning filled and relevant worship. We will try on crafting ceremonies (i.e., Candle Light Vigils, Solstice, Weddings, Memorials, Baptisms, Celebration of Life, Naming, Initiation rituals across Faith Traditions). We will explore community building strategies that are welcoming and offer life giving hospitality. We will create meaningful ritual for Interfaith, multi-faith or the Spiritual but not Religious (SBNR) seekers. Come, all are welcome.
