Marcia Christen
Marcia Christen is a Certified Trainer and Assessor with the Center for Nonviolent Communication. Growing up in North Seattle, on the ancestral lands of the Snohomish people, she developed a deep passion for personal, interpersonal, family, and systemic healing that has stayed with her throughout her life. Her lifelong curiosity about how people find inner peace and build compassionate relationships drew her to Nonviolent Communication (NVC), which she has been sharing with others since 2010.
For Marcia, NVC is more than a skill set — it's a spiritual practice and a way of living out the values of interdependence, shared power, and connection where everyone's needs are cared for.
She offers workshops, classes, practice groups, and mediation to support individuals, families, and organizations in weaving NVC into everyday life. A longtime organizer and host of WA NVC Family Camp, she has attended with her own family for over 15 years. She has brought NVC to children and adults in a wide range of settings — schools, universities, hospitals, faith communities, and correctional facilities — and finds that wherever she goes, NVC forms a natural foundation for restorative practices.
