Nancy Daughtery
Nancy Dougherty has provided compassionate bereavement support and facilitated grief support groups through Sutter Hospice in Santa Rosa, CA since 2001. She knows the experience of deep grief intimately as a parent who lost a child to suicide in 1998. Her journey through grief and loss led her to a path of service to accompany others.
Nancy is certified through ChI as a Spiritual Director and is a Certified Provider of Compassionate Bereavement Care through the MISS Foundation. She holds an Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Certification through the Embody Lab, and is a member and student of Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing Institute.
As a practicing Theravadan Buddhist for over 25 years, she is a graduate of the Spirit Rock Dedicated Practitioner’s program and the Sati Center Buddhist Chaplaincy program. Her work is grounded in compassionate presence, embodied awareness, and a deep and abiding trust in each individual’s inner wisdom and unique journey. Nancy finds joy and connection through the natural world, gardening, dancing, and hiking the hills of Sonoma County with her husband and their little rescue dog, Carmelita.
