Bringing together our interfaith curriculum with an emphasis on how marginalized communities face intersectional forms of oppression

Our justice coursework is more than social justice, it is sacred justice. In this time of global and environmental crises, we are called to ask where the prophetic voice of hope and resilience is leading us. By bringing together the wisdom of the world’s spiritual traditions, the Sacred Justice Ministry Program grounds the work of healing our planet and our diverse communities in the sacred connectedness of all.

Spiritual traditions have a long history of supporting “the orphan, widow and stranger.” In attempting to create “beloved community”, each of us must examine our own social locations, areas of privilege and unconscious biases if we are to become effective allies to those we serve. This program recognizes that each of us are products of generations of systemic oppression and that many of us live with generational and cultural trauma, as a result. Our approach in this program is to hold compassion for self and others as we collectively work to bring healing into the world, with lenses that include trauma awareness and the growing impacts of climate crisis on all our lives.
