- From an early age Kelly Ann was drawn to creative pursuits. In primary school she started singing opera and subsequently found a home in the San Francisco Bay Area’s underground music scene as a young adult. In 2016 after tragedy befell this beloved community she committed herself to become a chaplain. Kelly Ann returned to school to receive a BA in Religious Studies in 2020 and a Master of Divinity concurrent to interfaith ordination in 2024. From 2020 to 2023 Kelly Ann served as a director at San Francisco Night Ministry a multi-faith nonprofit that provides spiritual care, crisis support, and compassionate presence to those in need. Kelly Ann led aspects of the organization’s spiritual care programming ensuring it provided safe, compassionate, and nurturing support by volunteers and chaplaincy students.In 2022 Kelly Ann was hired as a per diem hospital chaplain and she was promoted to full time in 2023. Kelly Ann brings a Jungian perspective to her chaplaincy as this was a primary focus of her studies in seminary. She continued to pursue the intersection of chaplaincy and Jungian theory as a 2024 Hilda Mason teaching fellow where she developed and taught a graduate level course on Jung’s conception of Active Imagination in conjunction with chaplaincy. - Raised under the big sky of the Midwest prairie, Rev. Lauren Van Ham, M.A., began her professional life as a performing artist in NYC before pursuing interfaith seminary studies in California. She served for 9 years as a hospital chaplain focusing in psychiatry, palliative care, and bereavement support. Moved by spirituality and ecology, Lauren’s ministry called her to a consulting firm where she custom-designed employee engagement sustainability programs for multi-national corporations. For nearly a decade, she served as Seminary Dean for the Chaplaincy Institute, and interfaith seminary and community. Lauren’s passion for spirituality, art and Earth’s teachings have supported her specialization in eco-ministry, grief & loss, and sacred activism. Her essay, “Way of the Eco-Chaplain,” appears in a collection of women’s work; and her work with Green Sangha is featured in Renewal, a documentary celebrating the efforts of religious environmental activists from diverse faith traditions across America. She is a guest writer for “Progressing Spirit.” Lauren holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Naropa University. Currently, Lauren serves as Climate Action Coordinator for URI (the United Religions Initiative). She is a spiritual director and guest faculty for several schools in the Bay Area.

- Over the past three years, I have not been engaged in formal ministry following the loss of my hospice chaplaincy position. During this time, I served as a behavioral health case manager, supporting individuals through crisis and recovery while navigating my own season of transition, including the separation of my family and the sale of our home. These years have been deeply humbling and largely inward—marked by wrestling with loss, rebuilding faith, and rediscovering the meaning of forgiveness. Though my ministry has been quiet, it has been sincere. I am now envisioning new forms of service through Humboldt Animal Hospice and PRISM (Practical Resources and Interfaith Street Ministry), blending spiritual care with practical compassion. I seek to renew my standing not as a return to what was, but as a continuation of grace through lived experience.
